Project: A Medieval Wall
A section of wall that was engulfed in vegetation, and thus unstable and dangerous. The vegetation was cut back, and the individual position of the exposed stones recorded, before partially dismantling the wall to enable removal of the vegetation and its roots.
The stones were cleaned of all old lime mortar and rebuilt into their original positions, using a lime mortar, which matched the original and surrounding masonry.
